Best Time to Visit Agonda Beach
The best time to visit Agonda Beach is from October to March, when the weather is pleasant and the sea is calm, ideal for swimming and sunbathing. This south Goa beach is relatively undeveloped and peaceful, with a few beach shacks serving fresh seafood. It’s also a nesting site for Olive Ridley turtles during this period. From April to May, temperatures rise, but Agonda remains quiet and less crowded. You can still enjoy long walks on the expansive sand and swim in the morning. The turtle nesting season ends by March, but the beach’s natural beauty persists. Carry your own water and sunscreen. The monsoon season (June to September) brings heavy rains and rough seas, making swimming dangerous. Most shacks close, and the beach becomes almost deserted. However, the surrounding hills turn lush green, and it’s a perfect time for solitude and reflection if you’re willing to brave the rain.
